What is PetMatch?
PetMatch is a free app that connects dogs and cats in need of a new owner with people who want to adopt in Vietnam. You can search for pets by area, read their health profile and contact the poster directly. Beyond adoption, PetMatch is also where you create an ID profile for the pet you already have.
Is PetMatch a marketplace for buying and selling pets?
No. PetMatch exists for responsible adoption and to reduce pet abandonment, not for buying or selling animals. Listings that look like sales are taken down, and you can report a violating post right in the app.
How does adoption work on PetMatch?
You find a pet you like, read the profile, then send an adoption request with details about your living situation (housing, time to care, experience). The poster reviews it and gets back to you; the two of you arrange a meeting and talk directly. PetMatch only makes the connection — it charges nothing and never handles the handover itself.
How do I post a pet that needs a new home?
Download the PetMatch app, create a pet profile with photos and health details (vaccination, neutering, deworming), set the status to looking for a new home and publish it. The listing is shown to users near you, and adoption requests arrive right in the app.
Does PetMatch cost anything?
PetMatch is free for both the person posting a pet and the person looking to adopt — no listing fees, no adoption fees. The app has an entirely optional way to support the developer, and it does not affect access to any feature.
What is a pet ID profile?
Each pet gets its own profile with photos, breed, date of birth, health status and the owner's contact details. The profile comes with a QR code (and an NFC tag if you use a PetMatch tag) — anyone who scans it can view the pet's public page without installing the app.
How does PetMatch help if my pet goes missing?
You post a missing-pet alert with a photo, the area and when it happened so people nearby can watch out. If the pet wears a PetMatch QR/NFC tag, whoever finds them only has to scan it to see the profile and how to reach you.
Do I need an account just to browse pets?
No. You can browse the pets waiting for adoption, open a full profile and scan a QR code without signing in. An account is only needed to post a listing, send an adoption request or save favourites.
Which devices does PetMatch support?
PetMatch is on iOS (App Store) and Android (Google Play), and supports several languages with Vietnamese as the primary one. Pet profiles and the adoption listings can also be viewed straight from a browser at petmatch.vn.
Is my personal information kept private?
Your contact details are only shown at the level you choose when posting, and you can edit or remove a listing at any time. The privacy policy is published at petmatch.vn/privacy; if you want to stop using PetMatch, you can request deletion of your account and all your data at petmatch.vn/delete-account.
